Story behind "Mary Christmas"
My pastor gave a sermon that forever changed the way I think of that familiar Christmas greeting.
The miracle of Mary bringing hope into the world changed history – and we carry on the same miracle. As Jesus was planted in her, so it is with us. As His life grew and changed her, so it is with us. And just as Mary delivered the hope that changed the world, so does God’s love come forth from us to light our world.
That’s the miracle of Christmas. And that’s my hope this holiday for those I love: may you receive Heaven’s perfect gift, Jesus. And like Mary, may His life grow and change you, until you can’t contain that life and joy anymore. I wish you a Mary Christmas!
